Giving back to our community is very important to us here at Thryve. Whether it means providing more awareness to the charities and foundations we are aligned with that need attention or giving back in proceeds from one of our Thryve Events. We’ve rounded up a list of charities within the motherhood community we strongly align with and support ourselves wherever we can.
Mamas for Mamas
Mamas for Mamas is a national charitable organization that supports mothers and caregivers in crisis by providing ongoing support to individuals and families facing various poverty-related struggles. Our mission is to change the landscape of poverty through innovative approaches to financial barriers faced by struggling families.
Black Mamas Matter
Black Mamas Matter Alliance is a Black women-led cross-sectoral alliance. We center Black mamas to advocate, drive research, build power, and shift culture for Black maternal health, rights, and justice.
Indspire
Indspire is a national Indigenous registered charity that invests in the education of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people for the long term benefit of these individuals, their families and communities, and Canada.
Black Lives Matter
A national movement to end state-sanctioned violence, liberate Black people, and end white supremacy forever.
BC Women’s Foundation
BC’s largest non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the full spectrum of women’s health. We ensure women have equitable access to the highest quality healthcare when, where, and how they need it.
Black Therapy and Advocacy Fund
In response to the incessant police brutality and anti-blackness, right now more than ever the Black community is in need of mental health support. The goal is to address the lack of Black therapy resources, advocacy, and mental health support in the Vancouver Lower Mainland.
One Girl Can
One Girl Can is breaking the cycle of poverty and impacting gender equality through education and mentorship. Our holistic model empowers a girl from the time she leaves primary school until the day she gains meaningful employment.
National Congress of Black Women Foundation
A registered charity that promotes and facilitates activities and model programs that foster advancement, recognition, health, and education of black women and their families through funding and research.
Black Women Connect in Vancouver
A collective of women who come together to inspire, empower, leverage strengths, and embrace diverse experiences. A community to build meaningful relationships and celebrate the beauty of black womanhood.
Hogan’s Ally Society
The Hogan’s Alley Society (HAS) is a nonprofit organization composed of civil-rights activists, business professionals, community organizations, artists, writers, and academics committed to daylighting black history in Vancouver and throughout British Columbia.
