August: Routine + Rituals
“A daily ritual is a way of saying I’m voting for myself, I’m taking care of myself”
– Mariel Hemingway
While this month is still a celebration of summer, it's also a month of seasonal transitions and preparing for fall routines to kick into gear again. We may be getting prepared to go back to school, work and kids programs and we also may be trying to set some sort of healthy routine up within our own household - perhaps you’re a new mom and are adjusting to a new sleep or feeding schedule.
For me, August is a month to take it all in, reflect on the past few months of casual mornings, backyard hangouts, family getaways but it also brings up feelings of overwhelm with the upcoming busyness of September. Mornings can be busy - getting everyone ready for the day, school, activities and our own work commitments (for the working moms) and the afternoon, evenings and weekends are full of activities and birthday parties.
When we create routine + rituals for ourselves, our mental, physical, emotional and spiritual need to be supported. Each one of these can help provide the essence of feeling more grounded, calm and present throughout your day - whatever stage of motherhood you're in. Setting yourself and your children up for success just before the shift of a new season is a great place to start.
Here are a few things to expect this month within the theme include:
A Routine + Ritual Guide including helpful tips to create daily rituals for the modern Mama {downloadable}
A Q&A Session with TRYBE Leader, Katie Keating founder of Studio 202 who will answer q's and provide practical tips on how to create a daily routine as a mother!
Morning Ritual Checklist for Mamas (downloadable)
5-Minute Mindfulness Meditation (downloadable)
Tips to prepare our kids for Back to School/Work/Kids Programs
This month, my intention is to help provide tools and resources for how we can set up routines and rituals in our own lives - to help us feel grounded and mindful.
We are so excited to have wellness experts join us this month to provide you with helpful resources and tips to integrate into your own life. Each week we will include new resources for you to practice at your own convenience.
I hope you enjoy!

Susan Pratt,
Susan Cooks Vegan
Susan founded a plant-based recipe resource for home-cooks inspired to make healthy dishes for the whole family.
How we eat our food, what we choose to eat and how we prepare our meals are all questions that Susan has has explored extensively. The more she learned, the more she realized that she has an impact on not just her own choices but her family’s and the environment. Plant-based eating doesn’t need to be daunting or inaccessible. You can make delicious and decadent vegan meals using items that you already have in your pantry while being kind to the planet. Which has made it easy to cook vegan meals for husband, Randy, who has joined her in a vegan lifestyle, and her daughter, Carrington, who is a happy and thriving toddler (and broccoli eater!).

Daily Rituals
We're taking notes from Katie's Routine + Ritual Guide this week! To prepare for your week ahead, jot down what your ideal morning ritual would look like. From the moment you wake up, to getting everyone out the door for the day. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
1. Before getting out of bed, take 5 deep breaths
2. Keep a journey beside your bed + jot down anything you can remember from your dream the night before.
3. Sip on a warm glass of lemon water (with any supplements you take in the am) as you wake up your body.
4. Take 5 minutes with your child (children) when they awake to set their tone for the day. If they're old enough, ask them how they would like to see their day or go over what they will do and if they have any goals they want to achieve for the day.
