Our Top Wellbeing Reflections from 2018

2018 Reflections

As 2018 comes to an end and we are awaiting 2019 we want to share some moments to remember from this year that have brought joy and growth.

One of the biggest takeaways this year at Thryve has been remembering the incredible community, support and opportunities. It has also brought us new insight on staying more mindful, taking steps to quieten the mind to become more at peace with yourself and being inspired by others for their work-life-motherhood balance. These all have been a great source of growth and learning. We’ve listed a few of our top well-being resources that have made an impact in our lives this year.

Podcasts

This year, podcasts were going strong over here at Thryve as it has been one of the top sources of inspiration! There were so many new podcasts being released including GOOP earlier this year. Other ones included the incredible Goal Digger Podcast where Jenna Kutcher provides valuable business resources and interviews with successful female entrepreneurs. There is such a vast variety of podcasts available now, which bring opportunity to learn, grow, and nurture yourself through and have a chance to become exposed to other professionals, experts, and influencers who can make an impact in your day-to-day life.

Health & Well-Being Resources

A list of great books which have been around for a few years but have re-surfaced onto our bookshelves again this year have all encompassed opportunities for self-growth, discovering new ways to parent, and elevating self-care regimes. These include, Ask and it is Given by Esther Hicks and Jerry Hicks, The Conscious Parent by Dr. Shefali Tsabary, Whole Body by Shivni Rose, You are a Badass by Jen Sincero to name a few.

Our ThryveSpotlight & New Connections

2018 was a year of new connections, new networking opportunities and strengthening our support system. This is something we at Thryve have been truly grateful for, which includes our Thryve Spotlights and groups such as A Mother’s Movement, Vancity Business Babes, Fiesty Feast and many more! It’s remarkable how powerful it is when you have a chance to connect with others that you would perhaps otherwise not in the past and how everything lines up at the right time and not sooner.

Meditation, Crystals & Intention Setting

Creating more mindfulness into your everyday living and through your motherhood journey is a big part of what Thryve is all about. Finding moments to meditate, taking conscious breaths, and honouring yourself is a big part of being able to give back to yourself as a woman and especially as a young mother. Over the past several months we have rounded up several ways to do this through creating a morning ritual, using specific apps to meditate, or creating new intentions and manifesting to make them happen with a collection of crystals.

Healthy Living

At Thryve we believe in honouring yourself and your family through healthy living and nourishment of the mind, body and soul. We have come across some amazing resources for women, mothers and families which support our same values whether it is through sharing plant-based recipe apps like Oh She Glows, Fitness Groups for Mothers, mindfulness tips and motherhood support groups like Mindful and A Mothers Movement. One takeaway through all of this is to give yourself the opportunity to tune in, allow your body, mind and soul the space to grow, learn, and rest. The more you allow to do this for yourself, the more you’ll be able to provide strength and support for your family and friends.
